Welcome to Portland's world of microbrewing and brewpubs! |
Most people know Portland for its proximity to the Great Outdoors. All within two hours of driving one can find Mountains to climb, year-round skiing, wind surfing, natural coastline, lakes, kayaking, rock climbing, and a cornucopia of hiking trails through some of the United States most beautiful and protected forests.
What many visitors do not know (at least on their first time here) is that we also have a plethora of microbreweries. We have 32 craft breweries in Portland, 34 in the Portland metro area. That is more than any other city in the world. The Oregon Brewers Guild even claims that no matter where you are in Portland, you are always within 15 minutes of a craft brewery.
With all these unique microbreweries, you will be hard-pressed to become bored with the flavors. Let your tastebuds travel through the vast selection of stouts, porters, blonds, lagers, IPAs, reds, hefeweizens and more. You will learn from us Portlanders that beer also goes with nearly everything, and nearly every occasion. Many of our brewpubs are WiFi hotspots, spots where you can bring your dog (and drink beer called Hair-of-the-Dog), and even compete in adult spelling bees.
